Care

A good loafer is resoled, not replaced. A few habits get it there.

Last updated 15 October 2026

Every week

  • Rest a pair for a day between wears, ideally with a cedar shoe tree.
  • Brush off dust with a horsehair brush.

Every month

  • Clean smooth leather with a damp cloth, then a thin layer of cream in a matching colour.
  • Brush suede with a suede brush; never use cream on it.

When the sole wears through

  • Our loafers are Goodyear welted, so a cobbler can replace the sole.
  • Members of the Penny Club at Tassel have one resole a year done by us.
