Three loafers, and how to wear them.

The penny

A strap across the vamp with a slot cut in it. The plainest loafer, and the most useful: with jeans, with chinos, with a suit on a Friday.

The horse-bit

A metal bar across the vamp, from riding tack. Dressier than a penny, at home with tailoring and an open collar alike.

The tassel

Two leather tassels on a lace around the collar. The most traditional of the three, and the easiest to wear with flannel and tweed.
